X (Formally Twitter) Alternative Spoutible Raises $400,000 From “Investors”
Spoutible is surprisingly having some success in raising funds from its community (via Equity Crowdfunding‽), as the site has raised over $400,000 from 1,000 “investors.”
The company sent an email celebrating the news, although the legal disclosure at the end is concerning.

Spoutible raising $400,000 is impressive for any X / Twitter alternative, but it is still unclear what “investors” are obtaining in exchange for sending Spoutible cash.
It will be interesting to see if Spoutible is around a year from now, especially with some X alternatives shutting down as the world seems to be rallying around Threads & the Fediverse at large.
